Toothpaste is a paste or gel dentifrice used with a toothbrush as an accessory to clean and maintain the aesthetics and health of teeth. Toothpaste is used to promote oral hygiene: it serves as an abrasive that aids in removing the dental plaque and food from the teeth, assists in suppressing halitosis, and delivers active ingredients (most commonly fluoride) to help prevent tooth and gum disease. Neem toothpaste is made from the Neem Extract (Leaf or Bark). Neem as a plant has medicinal and healing properties. Neem leaf extract has antibacterial, antifungal, soothing and moisturizing properties. The Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO) has developed and perfected process technology for production of Neem tootpaste with the overall objective to stimulate industrial development through the small and medium enterprise, create employment and reduce poverty.
